Lumork

Our story

A shop built by people who never stopped loading film.

Lumork began with a stubborn belief: that a photograph you wait for, develop and print is worth more than a thousand you swipe past. We exist to keep film alive — to put good cameras, fresh stock and real darkroom kit into the hands of anyone who wants to slow down and see.

How it started

We started the way a lot of analog stories do: with a dusty camera inherited from a grandparent, a roll of expired film and the quiet shock of the first frame that came back right. That feeling — equal parts patience and surprise — was something the convenience of digital had quietly trained out of us, and we wanted it back.

So we set up a small shop. First it was secondhand bodies cleaned on a kitchen table and rolls of film kept cold in a borrowed fridge. Then people kept coming back, not just for the gear but for the help: which camera, which film, how to develop it without ruining the negatives. The shop became a place to learn the craft as much as buy the kit.

Today Lumork carries cameras for every kind of photographer, film we store fresh and date honestly, and the darkroom equipment to close the loop at home. Every product is something we'd happily shoot, develop or print with ourselves.

The shop today

We keep our range tight and curated rather than vast and overwhelming: a focused line of 35mm and medium-format bodies, a family of sharp GR-mount primes, a handful of colour, black-and-white and cine-derived film stocks, and the tanks, chemistry and enlargers to develop and print them.

We test the cameras, shoot the film and use the darkroom kit before anything earns a place on the shelf. When you ask us a question, the answer comes from someone who has actually loaded that camera and stood under that safelight.

Values

01

Fresh film, honestly dated

Film is perishable. We store every roll cold, rotate stock constantly and print the date on the box. You should always know exactly how fresh your film is — no mystery, no guesswork.

02

Gear we actually use

We shoot the cameras, run the film and print in the darkroom before anything goes on the shelf. If we wouldn't reach for it ourselves, we won't sell it to you.

03

The craft, shared

Analog only stays alive if people learn it. We answer questions, write honest guides and help beginners get a clean first negative — because the next generation of shooters matters more than any single sale.

From shelf to shoebox

Source & test

We seek out cameras, lenses and stock worth carrying, then put each through real use — loading bodies, running rolls and checking that everything performs the way the box promises.

Store cold

Film lives in temperature-controlled storage from the moment it arrives. We rotate stock so you always get fresh, dated rolls, and we pack heat-sensitive items with care.

Pack & ship

Orders are packed by hand, padded for the journey and dispatched within 48 hours. Cameras are wrapped to survive transit; film is shielded from heat and X-ray where we can.

Help & follow up

The sale isn't the end. Stuck loading a reel or unsure which developer to use? We're a message away, with answers from people who actually do this themselves.
